It has been a big week for Matt. He had his first official teaching experience on Wednesday and he repeated it today (in a math class) and is engaged for another day of teaching tomorrow. He has signed up to be a substitute teacher with the Weber and Ogden City School Districts. He plans on doing substitute teaching to gain some classroom experience while he gets everything straightened out with his degree at the University of Utah. Once he gets that done officially he can move into the realm of being a real full time teacher. I am not sure how long Matt has wanted to be a teacher, but I know that since I met him he has wanted to do something to leave his mark on the world. He has wanted to do something that will make this place we live a little better, and I have always known that he would be able to do anything he put his mind to. I know he will be wonderful at teaching and that the kids in his classes will be lucky to have him.

Wow, cool! What grade(s) was he teaching? I hope the kids were nice to him, I remember that things can get a little crazy with substitutes! Good luck Matt!
Well Mr.Matt, I guess one more educator in the family is a good thing. Now you can look forward to joy, pain, frustration, satisfaction and poverty.
A gem from Grandpa's wisdom.
