Where did October Go?

Hi All – I have been quite the blogging slacker the past month. I don’t know why. I don’t really have any excuses, I haven’t been super busy or anything. I think I just haven’t sat down that the computer to do it. So here I am – sitting down at the computer and trying to remember all the fun things we did during October that I was going to blog about but never did.

The first thing I was going to blog about oh so long ago was a football game. Matt and I decided to go to the Weber State homecoming game this year. It was so much fun! I really like the Weber State games because they are small time, easy and cheap to get tickets, and still fun. They are not as crazy as a U game, but still fun. We got to the game a little late, and Weber had already scored a touchdown. We were lucky enough to get to witness many more, including a Big Sky conference record for longest kick-off (or was it punt – see this is why I need to blog sooner) return. It was fun.

Another thing that happened this month was Halloween! To get ready for the holiday we went to a play at the Off Broadway Theater in Salt Lake. We began going to these shows with my sisters a few years ago. Usually they are set up as Dracula vs someone, and the guy that plays the Dracula is SO Funny! This year they didn’t do that, they did Forever Dead, and the Dracula was playing Frankenstein. It was a lot more singing and a lot less plot, but I was still rolling on the floor in certain places. Really funny.

We carved pumpkins again this year. This year we have BJ living with us, so he got to carve one too. I carved a scary skull, Matt did an alien (it is in a white pumpkin) and BJ did Pumpkin Pi (haha). Fun fun fun.
On actual Halloween we finished making Matt’s costume and headed out on our annual haunting visits.

We try to visit all the nieces and nephews in the area. First we stopped by my friend Dawn’s house. They were not quite set up in their costumes yet, but we enjoyed sitting in the great weather and talking. Next we headed to my sister Chrystie’s house. It was at this point that Matt lost the make-up for his costume because it scared our nephew Dax. He was not a fan. But we loved seeing the little Tinkerbelle and the Lion and the cute little Dalmatian. I love that even my sister and brother in law dress up. It was fun.

Our last stop was to see Matt’s sister Becky’s kids. They were set up at their Grandma’s house – all ready to go out to a Trunk or Treat so we didn’t stick around too long. We did the great reveal on the front porch. I think it went over well. I loved our costumes! We got to see our cute little Fairy niece, our nephews were a Pirate and Spiderman. Really good costumes. My Brother in law also got into the spirit of things! (but we didn't get a picture of that - way too bad).
We hurried home and tried to be there in time to meet some Trick-or-Treaters. BJ had been holding down the fort up to that point and we had a lot of kids show up. It was awesome! I love that Trick-or-Treating is still alive and well. It was so much fun when I was a kid I am glad some kids still get to do it! We watched Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (with Spencer Tracy, Ingrid Bergman, and Lana Turner) and made chocolate chip cookies. It was a really good Halloween!
