Thanksgiving, and all that Stuff

We had a really good Thanksgiving this year. We started the day with the run in Draper, and rather than driving all the way back up to Riverdale just to turn around and go to North Salt Lake, we spent the morning and early afternoon at Matt's grandparent's house. We watched the parade and the football games, and tried out best at making the sweet potatoes.

The sweet potatos may have been a mistake. I have never really made them, so I had no idea what I was doing. I bought a bunch of potatos, then looked up online for a recipe. I found an easy one, but it asked for the canned stuff. So I figured I could make it work with mine if I just mashed them good enough. I guess here is where I made my mistake, because I boiled the potatos to make them soft, and soft they got. They were pretty runny when we were done. Still super yummy, but runny. We actually baked them a second time after thanksgiving, and it made for better leftovers.

But we took our runny potatos to my sister's house for dinner. It was great. My brother in law had made a great turkey and we had all sorts of pies. We all ate until we couldn't move anymore. I will say that the relaxing after dinner nap was a little harder to get with our cute neice and nephew wanting to play with us, but we are all lucky they have Uncle Matt who was happy to skip most of his nap and go downstairs to play with them, and teach them a new magic trick.

We had a really great Thanksgiving this year. Of course I didn't take one picture! I know, slacker. But it was great!
