Turkey Trot

On Thanksgiving morning Matt and I participated in the Human Race Turkey Trot in Draper. Matt's sister Becky invited us to do the race with her and we had so much fun. We got up WAY too early for a holiday and drove out to the outlets in Draper to meet Becky. She was great and had picked up our race packets for us the day before. It was a cheap race to join ($10) and all the money went to the Utah Food Bank. Awesome. So we met her at before the race and lined ourselves up near the back of the pack - since we knew we were not going to break any records during the race.

It may have been a mistake to line up so far back because we spent the first 10 minutes or so dodging small kids and strollers. But it soon thinned out and we were able to just do our thing. I am slowly working on transitioning from only walking to being a wogger (walking/jogging). So Matt was great and stayed back with me. We did intervals of running 5 minutes and walking 2. We finished in just under 39 minutes (awesome for us!) and even better than that, we had a really good time. This may become a Clark tradition.

I do not understand this running thing. If I were to try it, they would need the ambulance in the background to carry me away....
