Happy Birthday Bev

Last week was Matt’s Mom’s birthday. Her birthday fell on a Wednesday so we were not able to make it down to Sandy that day, but we were excited to go down for a party on Saturday to celebrate.

My original plan was to head down to Salt Lake early and pick up tickets to the Real game that were being offered on the Pass of all Passes. My plans were all messed up however when I woke up. Before I was even done with my morning run the game had sold out (and I pulled my hamstring – it was a bad morning). So we scrapped the idea of going to the game and instead planned to spend the whole day with Bev.

So we drove down to Sandy and hit the store on the way there. We were doing a potato bar for the party and we had to stop and pick stuff up ( I forgot a bunch of the stuff we had planned on bringing – so we had to buy even more.) But we had a good time playing with the niece and nephews and Matt’s cousins when they showed up.

I think the kids were a little disappointed in me because I selfishly allowed the battery of my phone to get really low so they couldn’t play games on it. Instead we had to come up with alternative ways to entertain ourselves. The game of choice was to hide a piece of paper in a plastic box and then have either me or Matt guess which box it was in. Somehow I just could never guess right.

We also had a good time playing the drums (empty Mt. Olympus water tanks). Cailey has really good rhythm actually. I was impressed.

Matt’s sister Becky brought us some really delicious cake and after singing Happy Birthday we only had t blow out the candles three or four more times to give all the kids a shot.

We had a lot of fun playing with the family. Happy Birthday Bev.

I agree. Family is fun.
