We were excited when we received an invitation to his wedding this summer. Well, actually we worked pretty hard to get the invitation. They were hoping for a small wedding, but we wanted to make sure we were included in the party. The wedding was down near Cedar City, so it was a bit of a drive for us, but we totally made a weekend out of it and it was a great time.
We had planned to leave on Friday night and make it all the way down to Matt's dad's place in Mesquite, but we had trouble getting out the door by a good hour, so we left the next morning instead. It was a nice Saturday for a drive. We arrived in Cedar City early for the wedding so we took a small detour to Cedar Breaks national monument. Beautiful! The only trouble was that it was 30 degrees cooler at the top of the mountain than it was at the bottom, and I wasn't dressed for that. But the scenery was worth some cold toes.
We drove back down the mountain in time to make the wedding. Matt's grandparent's were there and we were able to meet his cousin Robyn's baby for the first time also. (She is so adorable - sorry no pictures). The wedding had a casual tropical theme and was really nice and really fun. We stuck around for food and then headed down to Mesquite.

We finished our drive down to Mesquite and spent some time out on the porch with Matt's grandparents, his dad and Alisha. It was a nice cool night and a great conversation.
The next morning we headed out to Las Vegas to have lunch with my friend Lindsay who recently moved down there with her husband. We had a nice meal at the South Station (I think that is where it was) and then walked along the Fremont Street Experience before we had to climb in the car and start the really long ride back home.
We hit a little weather on the way back (St. George totally flooded in that same storm) but made the trip safely and had a fun packed weekend.
