Spending Time with the Fam

We had a great weekend spending time with Matt’s family that was in town for his cousin Wyatt’s wedding. Saturday we went to a barbeque to celebrate Wyatt and Kris graduating from Medical School. I am impressed by anyone that can spend the time to do that. The barbeque was fun. We were able to have some good food and good conversation. The weather cooperated and it was fun.

Sunday we went to Amy’s house for a family dinner, and to celebrate Matt’s cousin’s daughter’s 10th birthday. We had a good time talking and eating and playing outside. Matt had a good time playing with the kids; everything from jumping on the trampoline to playing baseball. We were playing baseball until it was too dark to see anything, then we called it a night. This is a picture of Matt and Bailey after a good political discussion.

Monday was Memorial day, so there was no work! Instead we had plans to go spend the day in Park City, because the wedding was in Midway that evening. Unfortunately it was a rainy and cold day, so we bummed around the house until it was time to go to the wedding. We took the extra scenic route out to Midway, but cutting through East Canyon. It was beautiful, and would have been even better if not for the rain. We got to the wedding and it was still raining, so we pulled the umbrellas out and wiped of the chairs and got ready for the ceremony. It was beautiful, even with the rain. And after the ceremony we moved inside for dinner. We were lucky and sat at the same table as Matt’s aunt and uncle (it pays to have the same last name) so we were able to have good conversation and some good food. The weather cleared up and Matt and Greg went outside to play with the little ones. It was still too cold to play outside for me (I was in a skirt) so I stayed inside and just enjoyed talking with Matt’s mom and aunt. We had a good time.

So overall, it was a great weekend. We are headed to the open house tonight, and should enjoy one more chance to hang out with Matt’s family before they all head home.

(PS – My sister’s baby was born on Sunday night! We are so excited and can’t wait to meet him. Daxton Joshua Zaugg. Looking forward to Wednesday when they get to bring him home!)
