Family and Friends Weekend

This past weekend was great, full of family and friends.

Friday night we were able to spend some time with Matt’s friends Preston and Holly. They live near Boise, so we don’t get to see them too often, and we are always happy when we get to. We met them downtown at Stoneground for some yummy food. I had the something special (wish I could remember the name ‘cause it was good!) It was this spicy pasta dish. Very good. We had some entertainment from a couple of tired kids that really wanted to come with Mom and Dad to dinner. But that was totally OK, Matt and I don’t get to spend much time with kids, so we like it, even if the kids are a bit sleepy and grumpy. After dinner we went to Iceberg and had a shake. Yummy ice cream. Good for the soul, maybe not for the waist line.

Saturday we were invited to the Baptism for one of the kids in my primary class. It was a really awesome experience. I am going to have a few more of these in the near future because I have about 10 (feels like 20) kids in my class and only 3 have turned 8 so far this year. They are a bunch of fall time babies!

After the baptism we went golfing with my mom and dad. This is a really big thing for me, because I have never actually enjoyed playing golf before. I had fun! Really, I did! I didn’t do nearly as good as Matt. He got a Birdy on his first shot and Par on the second, but I did good at not worrying about if I was doing good. That is a pretty big accomplishment for me. We did a short course, and had a great time. Happy Father’s Day Dad!

Sunday was Matt’s Grandpa’s birthday (#40 I think) so we headed down to his house to spend some time with them and with Matt’s sister Becky and her family. We had a really good time, ate some pizza, played some Jenga, and just talked and laughed. Always fun.

Unfortunately, I have been really bad at taking pictures lately, so this blog, like many others, will be pictureless. You will just have to use your imagination.
