A Dark Knight

We had another really great weekend. It was America First night at the Ogden Raptor's baseball game, so we got some tickets. My friend Dawn and her husband and little boy came, as well as my sister Val and her date Jeff. We were surprised to find out it was a double-header, but were happy because it was more bang for the buck (or actually for free, but who's counting?) So that was a lot of fun. I have a cute picture of Carson with his face just covered in nacho cheese that I will post when I get my camera hooked to the computer.

But what I really wanted to talk about was the Batman movie. Matt and I went to see it last night. I had been hearing a lot of talk about it. Mostly people were saying how great it is. I think it is rated the top movie of all time on the IMDB. I am a rather skeptical person, so I hadn't given in to the hype to watch it. One of the guys I work with was just going on and on about what a good movie it was - so I decided to give it a shot.

I will admit that I wasn't liking it at all for the first hour or so. It seemed just loud and violent for no reason (which I think it is supposed to - but it was bugging me). The movie did get better and became very exciting and engaging by the end. So - do I think it was the best movie of all time? No. Did I like it? Yes. (Matt even liked it and he is pretty skeptical about action movies). Would I see it again and again in the theater? No - I think it was a little too violent and dark for me. Would I recommend other people to see it? Sure, just don't take your kids. Is Christian Bale still the best looking Batman? Definitely!

Yeah, me and Preston saw it a couple of days ago...I don't think it will be a movie I will want to watch over and over either (no matter how good Christian Bale looks :) He's pretty.

Okay. You have convinced me not to take my kids. We probably won't see it right away. We tend to be slow on the movie take-up, unless somebody invites us to go with them. Old fogies, you know.
