Lagoon

It was my work sponsored Lagoon Day on Saturday. Matt and I decided it would be fun to go, since neither of us had been there for a long time. I don't think I have spent a summer day at Lagoon since about 9th grade. Matt admitted to having been there more recently than that, but it had been a while for him too.

My flight from Seattle got in at about 3:00pm, and we were to Lagoon by 5:00 (after a stop for some yummy lunch). Matt was wonderful and brought the water, sunscreen, and motion-sick pills. I thought we would be good to go, but we got in the park and it was SO HOT! I also realized that I wasn't that much of a fan of Lagoon anymore. This is what we decided about that park. It is fun when you are under 12 because of the rides. It is fun between 12 and 15 because you go there to pick up on other 12 to 15 year olds. Between 16 and 30 the park just isn't that much fun. Then when you have kids it is fun for you again. Matt and I were stuck in that middle phase. It didn't' help that I was already tired from my week in Seattle. So we did a lot of people watching, got on some rides (the Wicked was closed the entire time we were there) and lucked into meeting his friends Preston and Holly. They were down from Boise at a family reunion. So that was fun.

Overall, we had fun watching people and catching up with old friends. It will probably be a while until I pay to go to Lagoon. Maybe we will have to borrow someone's kids and make it fun again.
